Two years ago, Adrian and I started trying to conceive, and we’ve had zero pregnancies. In this first episode, I’m finally sharing the beginning of our fertility journey—something I couldn’t talk about for a long time without crying. Month after month, I watched my body do what it’s always done (my period has been consistent since I was 12, five days, no spotting), and yet nothing changed. We spent thousands on testing and appointments, and for the longest time we were told, “Everything looks great,” which is honestly one of the most confusing and painful things to hear when you’re still not pregnant. I also share the heart shift that happened in me. For years I didn’t feel ready—burnout from working with kids, leaving the classroom, going to therapy, and trying to become a healthier version of myself. But in 2024, I started daydreaming about motherhood, praying for a baby for the first time, and then getting met with disappointment that felt like grief every single month. As a Christian, I’m learning what it looks like to trust God’s sovereignty in a season I never expected—holding onto faith when I can’t see the outcome, and hoping this series helps you feel less alone (or helps you love people better if you’ve never walked through infertility).
