About This Video

Good morning from Sanur—then we head over to Ubud for a packed 2-day itinerary with my Indonesian husband (it was his very first time in Bali, which made everything feel extra special). I’m sharing exactly what we did, what we ate, and the little real-life moments in between. Last time I came to Ubud I basically did one cooking class and left, so this trip was all about actually exploring: Kanto Lampo waterfall (yes, I got jump-scared), a temple stop in the rain, and then rice terraces + the ā€œHappy Swingā€ instead of the super famous Bali Swing because I wanted something close by and with fewer people. Food-wise, we found this build-your-own nasi campur spot in downtown Ubud that honestly felt like an Indonesian Chipotle—tons of reviews, lots of foreigners, and it was easy to customize. We also went to the Ubud Monkey Forest (cool to see, but I’m not trying to touch them), checked into the Alila Ubud (quiet, jungle vibes, not walkable), and then my husband had a mini Bali belly night—so yes, we stayed in and rested. On day two we went rafting (my idea), and ended with a really special dinner at a more affordable sister restaurant to Locavore, with a full tasting-style lineup. Then it’s off to Jakarta.
