I traveled over 12 hours to Zanzibar and filmed everything I packed in my carry-on bag—because if you’re like me, the carry-on is where the real essentials live. I start with the comfort stuff (fuzzy socks for the plane), then get into my tech and filming setup: my DJI, Sony A5100 (with flash), LED light, headphones (I’ve kind of ditched the AirPods—best decision ever because they were so useless), plus my iPhone charger and a power bank that honestly saved me. On the plane they weren’t really using USB-C, so having a power bank made charging way less stressful. I also show the little things that keep me feeling put together on long-haul travel days: lens cleaners, wallet, compact mirror, electrolytes, lip pencil, body spray, lip products, and my iPad with films downloaded for the flight. Then there’s my skincare and wellness bits—SPF (because I used it before I got here), cleanser, moisturizer, cotton pads, Ren AHA toner, lip balm, cuticle oil, and hypochlorous acid spray for my face. And you know I can’t travel without snacks and tea, so I packed crisps, sweets, nuts, a water flavor squeeze, and a few teas. The biggest takeaway? This bag surprised me—it fits so much, even without compartments.
