About This Video

I gave myself a pretty unhinged constraint: build a portfolio website in 2 hours (8:36 to 10:30 p.m. Berlin time) and make it as unique as possible. Instead of the usual “hero + about + contact” template, I planned only what I actually care about: projects (with tech stack + how I built it) and a minimal “me” vibe. I used FigJam to plan, then pulled in AI via ChatLLM to brainstorm concepts—until I landed on a space mission control center dashboard idea with three monitors showing different project info. The design part was the chaotic one. I tried Stitch by Google, but it kept outputting a normal-looking website (which defeats the whole point), so I switched to generating a background in Midjourney and then built the UI on top. The real dev challenge was practical: aligning coded “monitor” overlays to a static background image, making invisible clickable areas for the control panel, and loading project data from a JSON file (which also meant I had to serve it properly instead of just opening HTML in the browser). In the end, I got clickable project switching working on localhost, bumped the typography, and accepted the tradeoff: it’s not responsive yet, so I’m not deploying it—unless I solve responsiveness in a smart way later.
