🚨 Watch me build my FIRST mobile app in 24 hours as a complete beginner to mobile dev! I created an alarm app that forces you to solve math problems to turn it off - no more snoozing through important meetings! In this coding marathon, I used React Native, Claude Code, TypeScript, Cursor, and Stitch by Google to build a cross-platform alarm app from scratch. Despite being new to mobile development, I managed to create a functional app that actually works (mostly 😅). What you'll see in this video: ✅ Complete beginner's perspective on mobile app development ✅ Real-time problem solving when CSS themes broke ✅ Building with React Native for both iOS and Android ✅ Using AI tools like Claude Code to speed up development ✅ The exact challenges I faced and how I overcame them ✅ Final app demo and what I learned in 24 hours This isn't a polished tutorial - it's the raw, unfiltered experience of someone building their first mobile app under pressure. You'll see the mistakes, the breakthroughs, and everything in between. Perfect for anyone wondering "Can I really build an app?" - spoiler alert: YES YOU CAN! 🔥 ⏰ TIMESTAMPS (TBD - will be added after final edit): 00:00 - Intro & Challenge Setup 02:26 - Designing App 03:29 - Setting up Development Environment 04:39 - Building the Basic App Structure 08:04 - Fixing the Alarm Functionality 10:27 - Working App 💡 TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES USED: • React Native (cross-platform development) • Claude Code (AI coding assistant) • TypeScript (type-safe JavaScript) • Cursor (AI-powered code editor) • Stitch by Google 🎯 KEY TAKEAWAYS: - You don't need years of experience to build something useful - AI tools can dramatically speed up development for beginners - Cross-platform development lets you reach more users - Real problems make the best app ideas - 24 hours is enough to build a working prototype 👨‍💻 Want to start your own coding journey? This video proves that with the right tools and determination, anyone can build their first app. No computer science degree required! 💬 COMMENT BELOW: What's the most challenging bug you've ever faced while coding? About This Video

I’ve been coding for 8–9 years, but somehow I’d never shipped a real mobile app that felt “done.” So I tested a simple theory: with today’s AI tools, could I build my first React Native app from scratch with basically zero mobile dev experience… in about 24 hours? The hardest part was honestly the idea. To-do lists are boring, weather apps are overdone, and games are too ambitious. Then I landed on something I actually need: an alarm app so annoying it’s impossible to ignore—because I’m absolutely the person who hits snooze 10 times. My twist was forcing myself to solve a math problem to shut the alarm off (and without the ad-filled apps that already exist). I used Claude to brainstorm the feature details (difficulty levels, motivational messages, even a color palette), then used Stitch to generate a clean UI so I didn’t have to pretend I’m a designer. From there it was Expo + React Native chaos: setting up the environment, “vibe coding” the layout to match the design, and then fighting real bugs like dark theme styling, delete functionality, navigation not returning home after solving math, and the alarm audio refusing to stop. By the end, I had a smoother flow with fewer button clicks, difficulty levels, and a math screen that auto-returns home on the correct answer. Next steps: shipping without Expo Go, adding motivational quotes, and tracking sleep/wake/snooze data so I can actually learn how I’m behaving.
