About This Video

Pomodoro timers have been annoying me for ages because they’re either not cute, or they’re weirdly rigid with the “25 minutes only” vibe. In this video, I build my own cozy pomodoro timer website in about 2 hours so I can focus for 5, 10, 15, or 25 minutes—whatever my brain can handle that day. The goal was simple: make it functional, aesthetic, and not another app I have to pay for just to hear a non-terrifying alarm. I start by hunting for cozy inspiration on Pinterest (fireplace energy), then I try to design it in Canva… and yeah, I basically hated what I made, so I hacked it by expanding a Pinterest image so it feels more “mine.” The UI idea I’m most proud of: using balloons on the wall as the time selectors, and a cute “start entrance” sign as the start button—because I didn’t want ugly buttons screaming 5/10/15. Then I code the whole thing in HTML, Tailwind, and JavaScript, add selection highlights, get the timer running, and implement a stop button (after realizing I forgot it… oops). I also add a chill sound from a free assets site so the timer doesn’t go “ring ring ring” and scare me.
