In this video I tried building a complete game from inception to completion using just prompts, with CodeWisp doing the “boring implementation work” while I acted as the game director. I walked through the platform UI, checked out community examples to see what’s possible, and then used the Game Builder (my preferred option because it gives more control) to generate a Cookie Clicker-style prototype—except we click a coffee bean. I chose 2D, no preset, and I went with best quality even though it costs more credits, because the output is simply better. Once the first version generated, I tested the game live: clicking for coffee points, buying upgrades like better beans and passive income items, and evaluating the “first prototype in like 2 minutes” factor. Then I started iterating with prompts: I asked for a new mechanic and got bonus events flying across the screen plus a click combo system with multipliers. From there I tuned it (more frequent bonus events), added more interesting upgrades beyond “+coffee per click,” and used the object edit feature to target the bean itself—making it bigger and adding a cosmetics/customization shop. The biggest takeaway: CodeWisp outputs plain HTML/CSS/JavaScript that you can export, open in VS Code, and own/extend locally. As a rapid prototyping tool, it’s genuinely impressive, and the free plan’s daily credits felt fair for this kind of workflow.
