Hallo! In this video I’m doing a super beginner-friendly German house tour, where I take you around my home and practice naming each room in German as I go. The whole point is to make German feel usable right away—like, not just something you see in a textbook, but something you can say out loud while you’re living your normal life. If you’re brand new to German, this is meant to feel approachable and low-pressure, because I’m practicing too. I also share the bigger reason I love filming videos like this: it’s an easy “checkpoint” for language progress. I want to come back after a long time and do the same kind of tour again so I can actually hear how much I’ve improved. I’m studying multiple languages at the same time (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, and German—plus a bit of Wolof), so I’m always looking for simple routines that keep me speaking consistently. This is one of my favorite ways to turn vocabulary into something real: connect words to places you see every day, repeat them, and build confidence one room at a time.
