In this video, I’m continuing my Endangered Language Series with a chat about Kyrgyz. The whole point of this series is to raise awareness about endangered languages around the world and (hopefully) teach you something new along the way, so I’m approaching Kyrgyz from that “let’s learn together” mindset. Even if you’ve never heard Kyrgyz before, I want this to feel approachable—like a starting point that makes you curious rather than overwhelmed. I also share a bit of the bigger “why” behind these videos: languages carry history, identity, and ways of thinking, and when a language disappears, we lose more than just words.
