Hi guys—this is episode 1 of my student exchange diaries and I’m literally still processing that I actually moved to Montreal. In this vlog, I take you with me from Kuala Lumpur all the way to Montreal (with a transit in Doha), and I’m just yapping through the whole “wait… this is real?” feeling because Montreal has been my dream city for years. I talk about how I manifested McGill so hard after high school, how I was sooo close back then, and how it genuinely broke my heart when it didn’t work out at the time. But being here now feels like the universe’s different timeline moment—like, manifestation actually works, it’s just a matter of time. I show little snippets of arriving, the surreal “I’ve seen this on Google Images” feeling, and even a tiny immigration scare where I was like… there’s no way you’re not letting me in the country (thank God I got in). Then we do some everyday settling-in things: grabbing Chinese food because my mom was craving Asian food, finding our first supermarket, and finally moving into my student accommodation—my first time living with housemates and sharing facilities. Cozy, chaotic, and very much the start of my Montreal chapter.
