About This Video

This video is basically my first week of uni + first week living in Montreal as an exchange student at McGill, and it still feels sooo surreal to say out loud. McGill was literally my dream university after high school, so walking around campus (which is genuinely so so beautiful) felt like I was living my 17-year-old self’s dream. I start the week pretty chill—unpacking, trying a cafe near my place, and meeting my housemate (she’s from Hong Kong!), which was a little nerve-wracking but exciting. I also take you along for the very realistic “settling in” errands: I go journal-hunting for 2025 (because I can’t believe I still haven’t bought one), and I do a mini dorm haul—pan, hair dryer, plate, glass for matcha/iced drinks, dish soap + sponge, and this mirror that flips into a magnified hotel-style mirror. There’s a snowy day where I stay cozy editing, then I head out bundled up in my puffer and scarf. And yes, it’s not a perfect first week. I had a moment where my schedule didn’t show a room number, I was lowkey panicking running around a whole building looking for class, and then I walked into a room where everyone looked like grad students and I immediately felt out of place. But overall, I’m just super super grateful to be here—taking it slow, settling into the city, and planning to meet up with online friends soon.
