It’s my last day in London, and I did some very (very) light shopping, so I’m doing a quick haul of everything I picked up—starting with the souvenir-y snacks because those are honestly my favorite. I went to Fortnum & Mason for breakfast and then popped into their shop, which I genuinely think is the perfect place to grab gifts for loved ones. I picked up assorted tea leaves, a couple shortbreads (including Earl Grey tea shortbread and macadamia nut), and then a pack of Earl Grey tea bags for myself. From Harrods, I got these orange marmalade biscuits that were so good, plus an orange marmalade Earl Grey jam (this is what I’m most excited for, tbh). I also grabbed Candy Kittens gummies from a convenience store because my coworker requested them—apparently they’re the British version of Sour Patch Kids. For clothes, I only bought one thing at Ganni: a black smock tie top I’d been eyeing and already wore. I also stopped by St. George (which reminded me a lot of Brandy Melville and I’m still confused about how they’re connected) for a few basics. My “lightest but most expensive” purchase was a pair of earrings—and the biggest takeaway: the UK doesn’t do VAT refunds anymore since leaving the EU, which definitely gave me a tiny moment of buyer’s remorse, but I’m still excited to style them.
