Day 10 of my Europe trip was a full travel day: I took the train from Paris to Nice. I woke up extra early to finish packing (I genuinely did not realize how much I’d accumulated between London and Paris until I had to sit on my suitcase to close it), walked one last time to my favorite local bakery for a final croissant, and then hauled my luggage down four flights of stairs like the strong independent woman I am. Getting to the station was a little chaotic because the rain made traffic worse, I got dropped at a random entrance, and I had to do a full-on trek to find my platform. The ride was just under 6 hours, and honestly the first 3–4 hours flew by because I knocked out for 2 hours, then journaled, ate breakfast, and read while we rolled through sunny countryside. I’m usually super time-efficient (you can fly in half the time), but this was one of those moments where slowing down made the journey feel like part of the trip. The only downside: around hour four our car turned into a sauna because the AC broke (and yes, it was first class), but my mood instantly improved once we got closer to the coast and the ocean views started. After a brutal 20-minute walk to my Airbnb with my heavy luggage, I met up with Yuen and Nicole, grabbed a late afternoon pick-me-up, walked along the beach (my happy place), hiked to a nearby viewpoint, and ended the day with seafood and a Caesar salad that totally lived up to the hype.
