Do you ever want to upgrade your bullet journal setup without buying a whole new stash—just using the same kinds of supplies in a smarter way? For April 2026, I tried to do exactly that with a flower theme (yes, the most classic theme ever), but with a twist—especially in the weeklies. In this video I’m setting up April in my mom’s bullet journal, and I’m using a bunch of new pre-cut tapes from The Washi Tape Shop (plus a few extra swatches) to build a soft-but-moody palette: dusty dark pink, purple, and a dark blue accent from the Frosty Rose tape. I walk you through my cover spread with a Dutch door, using dusty pink vellum on the edges and layering larger florals first to cover space quickly, then filling gaps with smaller flowers. I also share the difference between PET vs washi versions (I genuinely like both—PET is more opaque with a bit of reflection, and washi blends more into the page). For the calendar, I keep the look intentional by placing florals along the edges and using dark blue fineliner instead of black so the theme stays cohesive. The biggest experiment is my weekly layout: a mirrored, waterfall-tab-inspired Dutch door system across five spreads, with a decorated middle “top” page and the functional days split into 30 sections. I finish with my mom’s monthly expenses table and a “Pensamentos” (thoughts/brain dump) page—plus a final flip-through and a reminder that trying new layouts is always worth it.
