About This Video

New balls are awesome, and in this one I’m putting the brand new 900 Global Vengeance head-to-head with the Phaze II (because of course we have to). The Vengeance is a symmetrical solid that’s built to be that heavy-oil “first ball out of the bag” type piece—early read, controllable hook, and something you can trust on the fresh. We were on 42 feet with extra oil in the front (around 30 mL), so it was a perfect test to see who’s the better benchmark on a heavier look. Right away, the Phaze II did what it always does for me: it rolls a little earlier, it’s a bit flatter off the spot, and it’s super predictable. The Vengeance, though, was just a touch more continuous down lane—same general category, but a different kind of finish through the pins. I also threw the Ion Max as a reference, and that ball is just earlier and smoother for me; I had to get right and let it hook early off the friction. My takeaway: if you love the Phaze II shape but want a symmetrical solid that keeps its energy a bit longer and drives harder through the 9, the Vengeance is a really solid complement—especially alongside a big asym solid like the Ion Max.
