In this video, I’m back on the lanes with the brand new Motiv Nebula, and the whole goal was simple: see if it’s really as long and sharp as Motiv says, and where it fits beside two other pearl options I’ve been throwing a lot—the Evoke Hysteria (honestly one of the best balls this year) and the Steel Forge (one of my recent favorites). We had just finished league, so I was dealing with a pretty burnt-up 44 ft challenge pattern, which is a perfect time to see which pearl can clear the fronts and still kick hard through the pins. After getting lined up with the Evoke and then the Steel Forge, I switched to the Nebula and it immediately stood out. Compared to the Steel Forge’s more “hockey stick” snap, the Nebula felt like it saved more energy for the back end—more pop, more continuation, and you could literally hear it go through the pins harder. I pushed it left to find the limit (yes, a couple 2-8-10s happened), but the takeaway is that the Nebula is later, sharper, and more continuous, and I can see it working even when there’s a bit less oil or when your house has built-in friction. My ratings: 6/10 hook, 8.5/10 response time, and 8/10 shelf appeal.
