In this mic’d up league vlog, I take the brand new Motiv Evoke Mayhem out for a real test in league—fresh, breakdown, and even the burn—on our Gateway Arch 42-foot challenge pattern. I also mix in comparison shots with the Evoke Hysteria, Zero Mercy Solid, and the Raptor Rattle, because I wanted to see where the Mayhem actually fits in a bag when the lanes are hooking a ton (and my teammate Liam is absolutely roasting the track). The goal was simple: see how long I can stay in it, and whether it can be “better” than the Hysteria for my look. My takeaway: the Mayhem gives me that smoother, more controllable motion off the back end, and it really does sit between the earlier/stronger pieces and the cleaner/quicker Hysteria. On the fresh for me it was a bit touchy and a little uncontrollable because it wanted to read early and not always drive through the pins—especially once we got deep into game four where I started leaving flat stuff like the 7-10 and 10 pin. If you love your Evoke Hysteria and want something a touch earlier as a one-two punch, the Mayhem makes a lot of sense—just don’t expect it to be your “burn ball.”
