In this video, I took you behind the scenes at Rift Apparel in Montreal to show you exactly how a custom bowling jersey gets made. I’m touring the facility with Mark Buffa and Frank, and we walk through the whole flow—starting at the printer where the mockups come out, then watching them cut the prints into the exact pieces needed for the garment. From there it goes into the transfer process, and you can literally see sleeves and panels getting prepped depending on the fabric the client chooses. What really stood out to me is how manual and labor-intensive the process is. When people ask what goes into the cost of a jersey, it’s not just fabric—every station needs a person, and there’s a lot of hands-on work from cutting to assembly to sewing, plus extras like zippers and decorations. The big advantage Rift has is that everything is made and sourced here in Canada, which gives them way more control—especially if you need a rush order.
