In this YouTube Short I’m taking a quick look at Broadway Limited’s N scale M1a and M1b steam locomotives with Paragon 4 sound. I do a super simple unboxing (lift the lid, paperwork/manual on top, humidity pack, plastic sleeve) and then get right to the star of the show: the locomotive itself. For something this small, the detail is honestly impressive—Pennsylvania Railroad Keystone on the smokebox door, LED lighting, low-mounted marker lights, and a really nice metallic finish on the lead truck, center crank, and side rod details. I also point out the little things that help sell it, like the cab interior details (boiler backhead), trailing truck and firebox rivets, plus the tender details including a realistic coal load, the doghouse, jewel-style rear marker lights, and the crew access ladder with “Pennsylvania” on the side. After that, I run it a bit so you can hear it: chuffing, bell, and the whistle, plus there’s an alternate whistle on F22.
