In this YouTube short I’m covering a critical March 2026 update from Broadway Limited: the HO scale ES44AC is back, and it’s showing up in some really sharp new paint schemes. In this run you’ve got Florida East Coast, Iowa Interstate, CSX, plus some Norfolk Southern Heritage ES44ACs (and a few others that aren’t shown in the clip). The big takeaway is that BLI is keeping the same solid tooling and detail level from the previous runs, so if you liked the earlier ES44ACs, this is more of that—just with fresh roadnames and paint. Detail-wise, I point out the separately applied grabs, the sand filler hatches, plastic couplers, and those silver-tipped MU hose ends that really help the front end pop. I also highlight specific schemes like the CSX “Spirit of West Springfield” (including the safety train logo version with the CSX bracket logo) and the Iowa Interstate “McDonald’s unit” heritage look. Florida East Coast is a standout to me because it’s a recent repaint, and I honestly think this scheme is way sharper than the older one—almost like it’s borrowing a little from a “Pheromax”-style design, just in different colors. I also show a quick run-by and mention you can choose smoke on or off.
