I tracked one year on a single card and it was over $20,000 out of pocket, with more projected via pre-orders and rolling stock consists that manufacturers simply aren’t going to hand you for free. That ties into the personal-life piece: if my job situation turns south in 2026, I may “re-retire” around June, and if that happens you’ll likely see a noticeable jump in video quality, editing, and layout progress. To wrap it up, I do the final 2025 layout update. The big setback is the Volkswagen facility plan—an online-built structure showed up packed like garbage and got destroyed, so now I’m rebuilding/kitbashing and reworking that whole scene. The rest is largely status quo: some scenes are done, some areas will stay minimal, and the next big complex push is the Omaha city/overpass area when time allows.
