In this YouTube short, I do a quick product demo of the Broadway Limited Imports HO scale 2-8-0 Consolidation with the Paragon 4 (Rolling Thunder) system. I start with a simple unboxing—outer sleeve slides off, you’ve got blister packaging, and there’s a little trap door with the manual. I also point out the extra parts bag with accessory details you can apply, because BLI usually gives you a bit to customize the look. Once I’ve got it in hand, I walk through the detail that jumps out right away: the headlight, smokebox door and latch detail, coupler and glad hand, plus all the boiler-top appliances like the sand dome, boiler dome, bell, smokestack, whistle, and safety valves. You can see rivet detail on the firebox, side rods and drivers, and the lead truck arrangement that makes it a true 2-8-0 (no trailing truck). On the tender, the coal load looks realistic, and you’ve got water hatch detail, ladder detail, rear light, and cab figures. Then I get it on the track and show what it does: puffing smoke, Paragon 4 with added capacitance, bell and whistle, cab lighting that stays on until around speed step three or four, plus rear lighting and marker lights. Bottom line: it’s a cool locomotive with really nice detail, and it runs smooth for being so short.
