Kawasaki Brute Force - Not Running Right for Years

A friend asked that I take a look at his 2007 Kawasaki Brute Force VTWIN 650. He says that is has not run right for the last 6 years. It does not idle well or rev out properly. It stalls and backfires at times. He has been running with partial choke to combat the issue. Likely it is a carburetor issue. So lets get the carbs off and see if we can find the problem. Harbor Freight changed the recipe. The bottle previously stated "NON-CORROSIVE". Now it says "CORROSIVE", "do not user on Aluminum". It now damages most carburetors.
