In this video I’m speedrunning my current best IEM picks from around $500 up to ~1K (and yeah, I’ll mention a couple “if you have money” jumps). I break it down by use-case instead of pretending one set is perfect for everyone: best all-rounders, endgame all-rounders, bassy all-rounders, detail/treble monsters, neutral/vanilla, vocals, basshead, warm/scaling, and then the best value plays. The big theme is simple: buy for tuning first, then pay for technicalities only when the jump is actually obvious. At ~$500, the value kings for me are the Zens Top Pro and NiceHCK Rockies—both are clean, balanced-leaning sets with treble energy and legit detail for the price (Top Pro is a bit more sparkly/sharper, Rockies is airier/smoother with ESTs). If you want “endgame versatility” without going broke, I’d point most people at the Monarch MkIV because the switches basically give you two usable tunings and the technicalities are there. For bassy all-rounders I’m high on the RS5 MkII and Audio Origin (bone conduction done right), and for neutral I’d honestly stop at the Shuoer Gate because I’m not paying 2K for vanilla. For vocals, Mystic 8 is my new female-vocal pick, and I also call out some honorable mentions where you should demo first (like Canpur) because I’m not here to sell you a headache.
