In this video, I walk you through my efficient note-taking system that combines Readwise and Obsidian so I can actually remember what I read—and use it later. I start with Readwise Reader as my “capture” layer for reading and highlighting anything online, then I show how I pull in highlights from other apps so everything ends up in one place. The big idea is simple: reading is input, but the real value comes from processing and connecting what you highlighted. Then I jump into why Obsidian is still my home base for long-term knowledge: local files, flexible structure, and the ability to build a real second brain instead of a pile of highlights. I share my Readwise-to-Obsidian export settings and templates, how I query and review highlights inside Obsidian, and the exact workflow I use to process highlights into evergreen notes. Finally, I show how I automate the boring parts—like creating new notes automatically—using scripts (including my Zettelizer setup), so the system stays frictionless and sustainable.
