In this video, I share my story with ADHD and why building a “second brain” in Obsidian has been one of the most practical ways I’ve found to work with my brain instead of constantly fighting it. I walk through what a second brain actually does for me day-to-day: it reduces the amount of thinking I have to do in the moment, gives me a trusted place to park ideas, and helps me turn random bursts of interest into something I can come back to later. If you’ve ever felt like you’re “lazy” or “undisciplined,” I explain why a lot of that is really friction, overload, and unclear next steps—not a character flaw. I also break down common ADHD pain points—motivation that disappears, impulsive rabbit holes, distraction, poor working memory, and forgetting things—and how I use systems to compensate.
