Random ideas are basically useless if they die in your head. In this video, I break down how I do quick capture anywhere using Fleeting Notes and Obsidian MD—so I can grab thoughts the moment they show up and process them later when I’m actually at my desk and thinking clearly. I also explain what “fleeting notes” mean in a Zettelkasten-style workflow: they’re not meant to be perfect notes, they’re simple reminders of what I was thinking so Future Me can turn them into something real. I walk through how I capture on mobile and on the web, then how I sync everything into Obsidian so my inbox of raw ideas lands directly inside my vault. From there, I show how I use templates on import (so every captured note has the structure I want), how I search through my fleeting notes quickly, and how I process them into permanent notes, tasks, or project material.
