In this video, I walk you through my exact Obsidian workflow for brainstorming and writing—using my weekly newsletter as the real example. The big idea is simple: writing gets way easier when you stop relying on “inspiration” and start relying on a notes system. I show how I keep track of my writing projects, how I capture inputs as they happen (so I’m not starting from zero), and how I use Obsidian to move from messy ideas to a clean outline and a finished draft. I start with how I store future writing seeds (including quick fleeting notes), then I show how daily and weekly notes help me resurface ideas at the right time. From there, I create a fresh “output note” and build the piece by combining existing notes—pulling in related concepts by searching my vault and linking what’s relevant. Finally, I explain how I turn the finished writing back into new notes, so the vault gets smarter over time.
