About This Video

It’s officially time to properly move in, and in Moving Diaries Part 2 I’m taking you along as I start unboxing and organising our new house (we’re still renting, but it’s a house and it feels so exciting). I begin with the kitchen because I feel like once one room is functioning, everything instantly feels calmer. I show you a quick kitchen tour (the cream cupboards, wood worktop, the sink I’m obsessed with, and the cutest little archway), then I do the real-life part of figuring out where everything should actually live—knowing full well it’s a trial run and I’ll probably change it once we’ve had a few days of using the space. I also share a little new house homewares haul of three bits I’d saved for move-in: a bargain baking dish, a leak-proof Stanley (because my Quenchers aren’t the easiest to take out), and a projector that’s going to make this house feel so ā€œhosting movie nightā€ coded. After that, I tackle wardrobes and bedding with the built-in wardrobe situation we’ve got here (not as new as our old IKEA ones, but we’ll make it work for now), and I show you how I’m using shelves/baskets until we add drawers later. To finish, I give you a cosy little house tour—living area, dining space plans, garden (the dream), bathroom details, and a peek at what’s coming next. There’s still loads to do, but I’m reminding myself it’s not a rush; we’ll slowly make it feel like home.
