About This Video

In this CBD food challenge, I tried to hunt for hawker/food options that have the Health Promotion Board (HPB) logo, because I’ve been trying to eat “cleaner” lately—less starch, less sugar, and cutting down on sugary drinks. I honestly thought it would be easy, but after actually doing it, I realised it’s really hard to find stalls with the HPB logo, especially when you’re rushing during lunch time like a typical corporate worker. I also checked out places like Soup Spoon (soup + salad feels healthy, but I didn’t really spot the HPB logo), and I kept noticing that drinks are sometimes easier to “judge” with the HPB label. I also brought you along to Lau Pa Sat and Hong Lim Market to see what’s realistically available. At MBS/Lau Pa Sat area, I managed to find a couple of options, but wow—being “healthy” can be expensive (my fish soup with sliced fish ended up $11.80). And at Hong Lim… I failed my own challenge because I really wanted my ban mian, so I chose the jumbo one and told myself: if eating “less calories” makes me hungry and snack more, sometimes it’s better to just eat a full meal and exercise later. The biggest takeaway? Don’t use CBD as an excuse—just be more mindful, especially with drinks and sugar.
