About This Video

Episode 4 of my CBD food hunt is finally the one you guys have been waiting for: fish soup. Based on the fish soup I’ve been eating for how many years of my life, I feel like I can confidently share my go-to spots around Raffles Place/City Hall area—because honestly, fish soup is my favourite lunch, especially when the weather is raining and you just want something hot and comforting. I also shared the Google Maps bookmarks I saved so you can easily plan your own fish soup run. First stop was Fish Soup Paradise at Republic Plaza (super convenient because it’s indoors). I went with the sliced fish soup (with milk) so I can judge the soup properly, and I really, really liked it—there’s this white wine-ish taste and the soup felt quite premium. I gave it a solid 7.5/10, and it’s a great option if you work nearby and don’t want to walk out in the rain. Then I headed to the OG The Arcade fish soup to compare it with the franchise outlets I usually go to, before ending at my ā€œsince infant daysā€ favourite near Market Street beside OCBC—Fish Legend. Their tomyum fish soup is the one I always crave, though I did notice it feels lighter now and the price has gone up (about $9). Overall, these are my top 3 budget-friendly ($6–$10-ish) fish soup lunches for CBD office workers.
