About This Video

It’s National Day in Singapore and I’m doing a full-day “CDC/SG60 voucher” spend with a mix of budget hawker eats and little cafe treats. I dressed in red/white (first time, okay) and headed to Chinatown/People’s Park Complex to try and use the vouchers at the hawker centre. Reality check: not every stall accepts it, and I totally had a mini fail moment (including the sugarcane situation) — but the whole point of this vlog is showing you the real experience of trying to spend SG60 vouchers, not some perfect itinerary. After that, I redeemed myself by finding spots that do accept vouchers, like a cafe where I could literally buy matcha with CDC/SG60. I tried an iced black and a matcha strawberry cookie that was honestly so good because it wasn’t too sweet (and they heat it up + squeeze strawberry puree on top). I also continued the hawker route at Redhill Food Market, and I even shared a “fun fact” about how I had to learn the voucher clicking system from my mom. The next day, I went to Waterloo to try the viral Thai basil pork rice from TikTok… only to find out that outlet didn’t take CDC either. Then we did a takeaway matcha run at Kurasu (super crowded) and ended at Bras Basah Complex where I found a bookstore that accepts CDC, because honestly, supporting local businesses is also a nice way to spend the vouchers.
