I’m officially on PTO and (as always) I’m packing in a rush—workout class, dropping Romper off with my friend Jenna, paying my bills so I don’t have to think about them in Punta Cana… the whole pre-travel “getting things done” sprint. The real highlight though is my travel journaling setup, because I have many journals at home, but for this trip I wanted to bring ONE journal and keep it simple, calm, and actually usable in real time. In this video I walk you through my A5 Slim travel journal inside my Cloth & Paper vinyl cover—how I decorated the clear front, what pen I’m testing (and why it might not make the cut), and the three inserts I’m bringing: a Daily Agenda for hourly planning (undated, so no pressure), an Experience Tracker for rating excursions/restaurants, and a dot grid notebook for brainstorming or even collecting little blurbs from people I meet. I also talk about ephemera storage and why I decided to leave my Paper Republic pocket cover at home—partly for simplicity, and partly because I didn’t want to risk leather around a “watery” destination. It’s a slow, intentional way to stay present while traveling, and then I’ll reflect again later in my memory keeping journal once I’m home with printed photos.
