Apple just announced the iPhone 17e, and this is their “E” budget iPhone lineup getting a legit upgrade. The 17e starts at $600, and the biggest surprise (in a good way) is that Apple finally added MagSafe. The iPhone 16e had wireless charging, but it didn’t have the magnet ring, which honestly never made sense to me—so I’m glad they fixed it. On top of that, you’re getting a 48MP Fusion camera, the A19 chip (Apple’s pushing “AAA gaming” and 4K streaming), and it starts at 256GB of storage—which is a big jump compared to what a lot of base iPhones have offered. Color-wise, you now get black, white, and a soft pink “blush” option (nice to have more choice, even if pink isn’t really my thing).
