About This Video

You want a MacBook? In this video I break down what I’d actually recommend in 2026 by comparing the MacBook Neo vs MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro, because Apple’s lineup is all over the place on price and power. I start with the MacBook Neo, which is basically the “get me into macOS” option. It’s running an A18 Pro iPhone chip and it’s $599, so think Chromebook vibes, but the Apple version—great for students and casual stuff like web browsing, music, and light editing, but it’s not a powerhouse. Then I get into the MacBook Air, which is the one I’d recommend to most people. It’s thin, light, surprisingly powerful, and comes in 13-inch ($1,100 with M5) or 15-inch ($1,300). If I had to upgrade right now (I’m still on an M1 Max MacBook Pro), I’d personally grab the 15-inch Air because I don’t do heavy video editing anymore—most of my stuff is on my phone. And honestly, even an M2 or M3 Air is going to feel phenomenal for the average person, especially if you’re coming from an Intel Mac. Finally, for the pros doing heavy coding or heavy video editing, the MacBook Pro (14-inch or 16-inch) with M5 Pro or M5 Max is the move. But if you don’t need the newest of the newest, grabbing an M4 or M3 Pro is still a great call—my M1 Max is still running really, really well.
