About This Video

In this video, I reviewed the 7Hz G1, a gaming-centric IEM from 7Hz, and I was honestly surprised by how much it delivers for $33 (no mic) / $35 (with mic). I go over the unboxing and accessories first—especially that fantastic rubbery zipper case with a carry loop (super unique), the included tips, and the overall comfort. The shells are small, fully metal, and I had no comfort issues even for long sessions. The stock cable is also well thought out: you get full mic controls, a shirt clip, and a removable chin slider, which is such a nice touch that I wish more IEM makers would copy. Since this is a gaming IEM, I focused on gaming performance first. I tested it in Counter Strike (bots and real matches), plus Real Racing, Rush Rally, FIFA, and a bit of Fortnite. The spatial awareness, soundstage, and imaging are the big highlights here—footsteps and directionality were accurate, and gunshots didn’t turn boomy. It genuinely didn’t feel like a $35 IEM; it reminded me more of something like the Simgot EM6L class in terms of staging/imaging. Then I cover the mic test and sound. The mic is respectable for gaming (gain is low, but pickup is decent near the mouth). Sound-wise, bass is solid for the price with good sub-bass rumble and mid-bass punch, female vocals sound nice, and treble is controlled (though it can get a bit shouty at very high volumes). If your priority is gaming, I recommend the G1 easily; if your priority is music, I’d tell you to save up for something like the Kefine Klean instead.
