In this video I reviewed the Soundpeats Air5 Pro, and the main question I tried to answer is simple: is this basically a $60 AirPods-style replacement that’s actually worth buying? The regular price is around $80, but during the launch sale you can get it closer to $60, and at that price I genuinely think it’s a really strong deal. You’re getting a small, pocketable stem-style case with USB-C, plus features you normally don’t expect this low—Snapdragon Audio support, Bluetooth LE Audio (low latency), and LDAC/LHDC codec support if you’ve got a compatible device. I also covered the app features like ANC, transparency mode, gaming mode, EQ, and firmware updates. The ANC surprised me for $60 because it cuts down low hums and engine/AC noise pretty well, though voices still get through (which is expected at this price). For sound, out of the box it’s very V-shaped and boomy, and I didn’t like it much until I updated firmware and used Adaptive EQ in the PeatsAudio app. With Adaptive EQ, the tuning comes together: sub-bass hits nicely, female vocals come through really well, and the treble is handled surprisingly smoothly without being peaky. Overall, once you EQ it, it became my main TWS for the past few days.
