About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing the IEM I’ve been using the most recently and honestly, I couldn’t take it out of my ears: the Ziigaat Odyssey (around $229). It’s a 1DD + 2BA set (10mm topology dynamic driver + Knowles BAs), it’s easy to drive even off a smartphone, and unlike the Ziigaat Estrella I reviewed earlier, I didn’t run into driver flex here because the venting seems to be done properly. I also go over the physical overview, what you get in the box (and why I found it a bit disappointing for the price), and the fit/tips situation—because the stock tips didn’t work for me at all. Sound-wise, I describe it as a “new meta” style tuning that improves on what sets like the Kiwi Ears KE4 are trying to do, and if you don’t care about that term, I’d call it a very U-shaped, all-rounder kind of IEM. The sub-bass rumble and the sub-to-mid bass transition are genuinely fantastic for the price, though there is a bit of mid-bass bleed depending on the track (which I actually like for rap/hip-hop). Vocals are handled really well—especially female vocals, because that usual upper-mid shout just isn’t there—and the treble has good air without being overly spicy. I also compare it directly vs the KE4 and Estrella, and explain why the Odyssey is the one I keep reaching for across genres.
