About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing the ND Audio Venus, a $7 IEM that honestly surprised me with how good it sounds for the money. I keep it simple: in the box you get the IEM, one pair of tips, and a basic cable—and for $7 I really don’t mind the minimal accessories. The main reason I’m excited is the overall tuning and texture you get at this price, especially if you just want something cheap that still sounds “decent” and enjoyable. Sound-wise, it’s a V-shaped IEM with a nice bass texture and good sub-bass presence, although the mid-bass does miss that bite and punch I normally expect. Male vocals take a backseat (as usual with this kind of tuning), but they still have a decent amount of texture, and female vocals are surprisingly well done—my example in the video is Suwako’s OP from Tsuki Monogatari, where these handled her voice better than I expected. Treble can get spicy at higher volumes, and if I nitpick, it can be a bit uneven and slightly grainy, but again… it’s $7. Soundstage and imaging are decent, and as a backup pair or a “getting started” IEM under $10, I think the Venus makes a lot of sense—just don’t buy the USB-C version.
