Do you know the saying “do as I say, not do as I do”? Yeah… that was basically my relationship with cable management. I’d always tell people it matters, but my own desk was a mess until I finally fixed it with a $15 six-pack of cable route organizers from AVIO on Amazon. In this video I show exactly how I cleaned up my setup in about 20 minutes, and honestly, I had zero excuse for not doing it sooner. My process was simple: I started by unplugging most of my USB accessories so I was only dealing with power cables first (way easier to manage). I mounted a cable route under the desk with the included adhesive, fed all my monitor/device power into my suspended power strip, then ran my display cables next. Once the first route got snug, I added a second strip right behind it to make room, then brought back the USB accessory cables and tucked them into the remaining space. The only “scuffed” part is my bulky USB switcher (MacBook Pro to PC), which I had to stash in a nook near the sit/stand desk power supply. Even with a few droopy cables left to improve later, the before-and-after is night and day.
