About This Video

What’s up, fellow builders? In this video I’m checking out the GL Model RG Hi Nu—basically a bootleg take on Bandai’s legendary RG Hi Nu Gundam. The big question is simple: can this copy stand tall next to the original, or does it fall apart once we start cutting plastic and actually building? I go through the overall build, the feel of the plastic, the color separation, the gimmicks, and the stuff that matters when you’re posing and displaying it. For the verdict, I was honestly impressed. The plastic quality feels premium and the finish leans more matte, which I personally prefer because it looks cleaner straight out of the box. Color separation is strong—vibrant blues, crisp whites, and the kit really pops on display. The build is moderate difficulty because of the small parts, so patience and organization are key. Gimmicks and articulation work great, and I like that they skipped foil/plastic stickers and included water slide decals instead. Weak points? Some loose parts around the wings and upper body (easy fixes), metallics are more subtle than super shiny, and the face mask shape feels slightly off to me. As always: if you have the means to get Bandai, go for Bandai—but for a bootleg, this one can absolutely stand proud with minor fixes.
