About This Video

In this episode, I escaped into a lush rainforest and stayed in a big, super comfortable A-Frame cabin with Kelly from “Spicy Hippo” (collab) and of course Ted—because it was his birthday weekend. The whole place felt like glam camping in the best way: cozy interior, green views everywhere, and that calm rainforest vibe where you just want to slow down and listen to the rain. I set up a nice fireplace (and yes, I don’t like those fire starters, so I grabbed my own from the Jeep), and we had a little magpie visitor who was way too comfortable around people. We tried to make dinner under this magical lit-up tree outside—honestly it felt like I was in the movie “Avatar”—but the rain hit right as I finished setting everything up. We waited it out, cooked steaks, and got lucky when the rain stopped just in time for a proper outdoor dinner with wine (and I brought a German Landbier from Kloster—Metzingen, near Stuttgart where I used to study). Later the rain came back hard through the night, which made the cabin even cozier. In the morning I BBQ’d a “kind of” English breakfast, then the sun finally broke through, so we explored the creek, watched Ted go wild swimming and running, and I even test-drove one of the canoes. Pure rainforest reset.
