Welcome to Ilfracombe, England — I got lucky and had all the space to myself at Lee Meadow Farm Camping, with direct sea views from the van. I’m usually camping back home in Australia, so it felt special to experience a completely different vibe here, especially in a cabin-style camper van I hired through Quirky Campers. First job was leveling the camper, closing the back windows to control the light, and grabbing a proper caffeine boost because everything is better after coffee. Once the rain rolled in, the whole van turned into the coziest little cabin. I cooked some comfort food (that broth smelled so good), tried a local beer with a funny name, and then took a quick nap — rainy weather is perfect for that. The highlight for me was the fireplace; it adds instant warmth and makes the rain sound even more relaxing. I finished the day with hot tea, stunning sunset views, some work, and then slid the window covers over for a proper sleep. In the morning I had a surprisingly good night’s sleep under a thick, heavy blanket — the mattress is genuinely good. I showed the shower/toilet setup (a bit too small for me), cooked an English breakfast, and ate it outside even though it was chilly.
