I went on a Solo Camping trip in the rainforest, set up a cozy shelter, and watched the rain drizzle over the mountain views. The gloomy weather made it extra peaceful, with nothing but the sound of rain and the forest around me. About This Video

I took you with me on a cozy solo camping escape to Maleny, Australia—gloomy skies, light drizzle, and that perfect comfortable temperature around 23°C. I love this place. The views, the vibes, it’s awesome. Because the rain was coming and going, I put up a tarp to keep us sheltered and dialed in my tire table setup (level table = happy cooking, because the oil spreads evenly). Then I did what I always do in weather like this: made a proper coffee and just soaked in the rainforest sounds. Before dark I set up the tent so Ted had a place to chill (and honestly, I chilled a bit too). I tried to get my trusty old lantern going for that warm cozy light, but it needed maintenance—wrong mantle, igniter not working, and it started losing power, so I’ll have to check the gas supply and maybe replace parts. Dinner was the fun part: stuffed mushrooms for both of us, inspired by Kelly’s dad’s cooking, with my own little experiments—Ted absolutely loved it. I finished the night with a campfire, a new ale, and a sky full of stars. In the morning the sky cleared up—classic Sunshine State Queensland. I warmed leftovers, added eggs, gave Ted his favorite snack (apple), and headed back feeling properly reset after a relaxing escape from the city.
