About This Video

Welcome to another relaxing camp with me and Ted. In this episode I head out to a beautiful Maleny Rainforest for a cozy winter solo car camping night with my Jeep. After about a 1.5 hour drive, I slow everything down with a nice German beer, enjoy the scenery (the water was way too cold, even for Ted), and then start setting up a simple shelter because there was no rain forecast. It dropped to around 8°C, so it was definitely warm clothes time—yes, for Ted too. He looks great in it, doesn’t he? This camp is all about staying organized and comfortable while keeping the vibes calm and quiet. I show how I power the setup with the BLUETTI Apex 300 as the beating heart of camp, and I really love the DC Hub D1 layout—simple plug and play, plenty of low-voltage options, and finally an Anderson plug (I’ve been waiting for that for a long time) to run the fridge properly. I test the induction cooktop and a DC water boiler, make one of my favorite coffees, cook a simple but delicious dinner (Ted’s food first, of course), and finish the night with a warm campfire and chamomile tea under an amazing sky of stars. In the morning, coffee and a lunch box-style breakfast from Kelly (Spicy Hippo), then it’s pack up and back to the city.
