CAR CAMPING in HEAVY WINDS [ Jeep Wrangler overlanding, Campfire cooking ] Sounds of Camping Ep 16

This weekend we are Car Camping in quite harsh conditions, heavy winds. Our Jeep Wrangler took us to a very special place in the middle of an ancient Vulcano. As always we did some nice cooking on the campfire. Sounds of Camping Epidode 16 is here and we hope you enjoy it! In this episode we went 2 hours down from Brisbane. We crossed the Queensland border to New South Whales and arrived in the middle of an ancient extinct Vulcano. Tweed Shield Volcano and Caldera "the largest erosion caldera in the southern hemisphere.". Wollumbin also known as Mt Warning is absolutely stunning. The mountains stretched all around us at the horizon. When we arrived at the campsite we were blown away with the scenery and views. It is such a special place. This private property backs on 3 National Parks and is Wollumbin state conservation area. Surrounded by Wollumbin, Mebin & Nightcap national parks. It is the tribal area of Minjungbal Country. Weather forecast already warned us with abit of windy conditions. What we didn't except were crazy strong wind gusts inbetween. This was truly a test to our camping setup. Fortunately we had no damage. I was doubting the fly couple of times, but it held up really well. Our tent was also performing very well in those extreme conditions. We were told it is very unusual that it gets so windy in this place. Usually it's quite and peaceful. For lunch we had Potato pancake with Tomato Farcies cooked on the campfire in the dutch oven. Turned out super delicious, really enjoyed it. For dinner we just had to cook something quick and easy, because it has become harder to cook outside with those extreme winds. Next day it was like waking up in paradise. The birds are singing, the wind is completely gone. We got to experience the true beauty of this place.
