Thank you for joining me today in beautiful cold Norway. In this episode I head to the Tretop huts in Ringsaker to stay in a very unique treehouse called Utsiktsredet / “The View Nest” that can slowly turn up to 350°. I arrive at sunrise, meet the local “resident snow man,” and take in unreal views with birds and squirrels all around (now I understand why there are so many birdies—they’re basically waiting for breakfast). Inside it’s warm, modern, and super cozy, and I even had to heat up the frozen lock to get in. The best part: I finally get to spin the whole treehouse and aim the windows toward the snowy pines and foggy forest. I fire up the beautiful fireplace (with side windows!), make coffee pronto, and settle into slow living—no rush, no talking, just nature sounds. For dinner I attempt Norway’s national dish, Fårikål, and honestly… no joke, it turned into one of my favorites. After a movie, snacks, and a very comfy hidden bed, I wake up to a completely different mood outside—foggy, mysterious, and frozen. I try Norwegian breakfast specialties, hand-feed the birds and squirrels (they finally trust me), and wrap up with a walk and a promise: Norway is truly stunning, and I will be back for sure.
