About This Video

In this video, I’m walking you through our family subjects for the 2024–2025 homeschool year—one of my favorite parts of our day and honestly one of the biggest reasons I love homeschooling. This is our fifth year, and I’ve learned that doing certain subjects “family style” is such a sweet way to bring siblings together, simplify my planning, and build a shared culture of learning in our home. I share exactly what we’re using for world history, science, and art, plus the extra resources I’m adding to make our lessons feel rich without being complicated. For history, we’re using Story of the World Volume 3: Early Modern Times, along with notebooks and a few add-ons that help with narration, writing, and visuals. For science, we’re focusing on physical science using several The Good and the Beautiful unit studies (energy, motion/simple machines, reptiles/amphibians/fish, and paleontology). And for art, we’re doing Deep Space Sparkle’s Sparkler’s Club—specifically the Art Through the Ages bundles (with open enrollment in August). If you’re trying to plan family subjects that actually work in real life, this lineup is a great place to start.
