In this video I’m sharing our 2024 homeschool Christmas-school plans, plus flip-throughs of what we’re actually using day to day. December is when we intentionally slow down in our home, pull back from the “go-go-go,” and let our school rhythms support the Christmas season—especially getting our hearts ready to celebrate the nativity of Jesus. I walk through how I keep it calm and doable by building our days around prayer, gentle read-alouds, and simple loop-style studies instead of trying to cram in too much. I share my daily read-aloud and activity stack (morning prayer, saint of the day, a Jesse Tree plan, Scripture, and several Christmas-themed books), along with our chapter-book read-alouds. Then I show how I rotate unit studies through the week: Mondays/Wednesdays we focus on a Christmas hymn study and a Victorian Christmas unit, and Tuesdays/Thursdays we do Christmas around the world plus an art tie-in (12 Symbols of Christmas). If you want a peaceful, meaningful December that still feels like “school,” this is exactly how I plan it—simple, seasonal, and centered on seeing Christ in Christmas.
