Travelling in a 2WD van as a solo female from Cooktown to Wujal Wujal Falls is an adventurous journey through some of Far North Queensland’s most scenic landscapes. The drive covers approximately 70 kilometers and takes you along the iconic Bloomfield Track, known for its stunning views and remote beauty. While the track is mostly gravel and can be challenging in parts, careful driving and good weather conditions make it accessible to travel in a 2WD vehicle or van. Starting from Cooktown, you’ll head south on the sealed Endeavour Valley Road before transitioning onto the unsealed Bloomfield Track. The route winds through lush rainforests, crossing creeks and offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding wilderness. The journey takes you through the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, one of the world’s oldest and most diverse ecosystems. As you approach Wujal Wujal, the road becomes more rugged, with a few steep sections. However, with cautious driving, you’ll navigate these areas comfortably. Wujal Wujal Falls, located on the Bloomfield River, is a sacred site for the local Indigenous community and is renowned for its natural beauty.
